Re-opening of the Civic Theatre and staging of Umoja production

Since 2005/6, the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre has been closed to the public. This was indeed a facility that the arts environment needed to boost the performing arts in the province, with the availability of a theatre of this kind. But once again, the roaring applause of adoring fans will be heard in the Civic!

The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr. D.A.M. Kgothule is proud to
announce the re-opening of the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre that will coincide with the 2013 Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE).

000,000.00. The theatre has a seating capacity of an audience of 464 people. The theatre will be used again for the benefit of the city and the province. Local
artists can now start calling it their home.

Togetherness”. According to the Festival Director, Mr Mario Sefo, the production
crew will be conducting workshops during the entire period of MACUFE to empower local artists in the field of theatre.
