Public Service and Administration hosts public participation programme, 12 to 13 Nov

The Ministry for Public Service and Administration (MPSA) in collaboration with the Western Cape Provincial Government, will on 12 and 13 November 2015 host a public participation programme anchored by the principles of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and Open Government Partnership (OGP).

Led by Deputy Minister Ayanda Dlodlo who serves as the Special Envoy to the Open Government Partnership and Focal Point on the African Peer Review Mechanism, the two day engagement will commence with a Stakeholder Engagement on day one, with a Community Engagement and Public Participation on the second day.

At the centre of both the APRM and OGP is an emphasis on citizen engagement to develop, monitor and implement National Plans of Action to advance good governance through promotion of transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.

The two day public participation will ensure community involvement and engagement in the processes of the APRM and OGP, as well as build and strengthen partnership in support for the APRM and OGP and contribute towards improved service delivery through visits to Thusong Service Centres.
