The Minister of Public Enterprises, Ms Lynne Brown will lead a team of representatives from Eskom in cleaning up the Imizamo Yethu Home for the Aged in their 67 minutes of clean-up on Mandela Day in Hout Bay.
Mandela Day, which is one of the international days recognised by the United Nation’s calendar, encourages people all over the world to offer their services to communities around them for at least 67 minutes to honour former President Nelson Mandela’s vision.
The elders at the Home for the Aged will be treated to entertainment and be given blankets and food parcels to provide warmth during the cold Cape Town winter.
The Department of Public Enterprises’ Mandela Day event in the Western Cape will take place as follows:
