President Zuma to launch the Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone

President Jacob Zuma will on Thursday, 31 October 2013, preside at the official handover ceremony of the operating permit for Saldanha Industrial Development Zone (IDZ), in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

The Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) is one of the industrial development platforms aimed at catalysing economic activity in Saldanha Bay and the surrounding areas, mainly around the Oil and Gas and related sectors in terms of Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP) and it is believed that it will be a useful policy tool to advance the objectives of IPAP, New Growth Path (NGP) and National Development Plan (NDP).

The Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) also forms part of the 18 Strategic Integrated Projects, or SIPs, of the Presidential Infrastructure Coordinating Commission (PICC).
