President Jacob Zuma visits Bushbuckridge to inspect service delivery, 6 Nov

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 06 November 2015, visit Bushbuckridge Local Municipality in Mpumalanga Province to monitor the delivery of water and sanitation as well as other basic services in the area as part of the Presidential Siyahlola Monitoring Programme.
 
The visit follows the appeal by the community in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality for government to intervene in addressing service delivery challenges facing the community, in particular water and sanitation, human settlement, roads, electricity as well as refuse removal.
 
The President will visit service delivery sites to monitor the work that has been done thus far and also determine what else more needs to be done to address the service delivery challenges faced by the people Bushbuckridge and surrounding areas. The President will inspect progress made by the Department of Water and Sanitation, (DWS) and its water utility Rand Water in alleviating water shortages in the short and long term.
 
The President will be accompanied by Ministers, Acting Premier of Mpumalanga, Deputy Ministers, MECs and Mayors during the visit.

Part 1: Service Delivery Site Visit
10h00: President Jacob Zuma will conduct a monitoring visit to Inyaka Water Treatment Works in Mandela Village, Bushbuckridge. The President will no longer visit Hoxane Water Treatment Works as indicated earlier.
 
11h00: President Zuma will visit Blakfesi Village households for Water Reticulation Inspection to monitor the end product of the Inyaka Water Treatment Works.
 
Part 2: Community Meeting
12h00: President Zuma, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers will interact with Community members at Thulamahashe Stadium in Bushbuckridge.
