President Jacob Zuma will on Friday, 6 February 2015, host the first meeting of the Presidential Interfaith Working Group in Pretoria.
The President announced in the Presidency Budget Vote speech last year that he would convene various working groups as part of promoting working together with key sectors of society in building the country and taking forward the fight against poverty, unemployment and inequality.
The inaugural meeting will discuss the operations and focus of the Presidential Interfaith Working Group. It is also expected that the religious leaders will be briefed on the outcome of the Cabinet Lekgotla and the preparations for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) taking place on 12 February 2015.
This week President Zuma has convened the extended Cabinet Lekgotla, which is discussing the priorities of the year that will form part of the programme of action for 2015. The priorities will be announced in the SONA.
