President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 08 October 2014, chair a Presidential Coordinating Committee meeting, bringing together Premiers and the South African Local Government Association at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
The meeting will focus mainly on the state of local government in the country. It will discuss, amongst others, issues relating to the programme of local government: Back to Basics; demarcation of municipalities in preparation for the 2016 local government elections; acquisition of land for development of municipalities; municipal budgets and expenditure as well as general issues relating to procurement reforms in government.
We wish to invite the media for a photo opportunity at the beginning of the meeting and a media opportunity after the meeting.
