President Jacob Zuma to attend Native Land Act centenary events

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 20 June 2013, attend the 1913 Native Land Act centenary events in Cape Town. President Zuma will open an exhibition and later attend a gala dinner in commemoration of the Native Land Act of 1913.

“One hundred years ago on this day the most notorious Land Act of 1913 passed by the all-white parliament of South Africa came into operation. This Act was the culmination of the most gross injustice against the indigenous people of our land. It is an injustice that is the root cause of the poverty and inequalities that deface our country even to this day,” President Zuma said.
