Premier Supra Mahumapelo signs Memorandum of Understanding with Premier Nickson Chilangwa of Zambia, 6 Mar

MoU signing to collaborate on Agriculture, Culture and Tourism opportunities

Premier Supra Mahumapelo of the North West Province will tonight, Tuesday, 6 March 2018, sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Premier Nickson Chilangwa of Luapula Province in Zambia, to collaborate on and explore mutually beneficial opportunities in the areas of Agriculture, Culture and Tourism.

The signing of this MoU follows a visit by the North West delegation to Zambia last year, where they attended and participated at the Economic and Investment Conference which was aimed at marketing and unlocking the economic opportunities in the Agriculture, Aquaculture, Forestry, Livestock, Energy, Mining and Tourism sectors.

Premier Chilangwa who is joined by the Luapula Province Director-General Dr Buleti Nsemukila, Ambassador HE Emmanuel Mwamba and a team of experts in the agriculture and tourism sectors, arrived in Mahikeng yesterday, Monday 05 March, and were received by the North West delegation at the Mahikeng International Airport, soon to be renamed Dick Montshioa Airport, in honour of the Barolong Boo Ratshidi chieftaincy.

The Zambian delegation’s week-long fact finding mission in the North West Province will include visits to the Province’s tourism zones such as the Taung Skull Heritage Site, the Sun City, and the Taung Agricultural College which specialises in Irrigation Technology.

Members of the media are invited to witness the signing of a MoU between the two provinces of North West in South Africa and Luapula in Zambia, which will be hosted as follows:
