Premier Supra Mahumapelo launches campaign to pay creditors, 25-27 Feb

A rigorous payment of creditors’ campaign initiated to enforce compliance – Premier Mahumapelo leads the initiative

Consistent with the call by Premier of Bokone Bophirima (North West) Province Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo for government departments to ensure payment of service providers within the prescribed Treasury timeframe of 30 days, a campaign that seeks to enforce payment of service providers who have done business with government will be launched on Wednesday, 25 February 2015, at the Mmabatho Convention Centre.

Spearheaded by Premier Mahumapelo, this payment of creditors’ campaign will see all departments converging under one roof for a period of three consecutive days, Wednesday 25 until Friday 27, from 08:00 until 16:00, during which period the service providers who did business with provincial departments will be submitting relevant documents for payment to take effect.

Service providers are expected to bring amongst others, the following:

  • Copy/ies of the order/s or contract/s;
  • Copy/ies of invoice/s and such must bear the order number;
  • Copy/ies of delivery note/s, if any, or any evidence that the goods or services were delivered and duly received. (For infrastructure related projects, the certificate/s must have been duly signed by the professional engineer to confirm work done and certify the quality of the work);
  • All copies must bear the details of the supplier and including full details of the order.

Premier Mahumapelo is expected to address the suppliers at 10:30 at the Mmabatho Convention Centre.

“This is in line with our firm resolution to adequately address the non-payment and late payment of service providers, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to run government operations efficiently and according to the laws that govern us”, said Premier Mahumapelo who urged suppliers to take advantage of this platform and submit the necessary documentation as explained.
