Premier Stanley Mathabatha attends political meeting for development with Governors of Zimbabwe, 30 Aug

Limpopo Province advances the Regional Economic Integration Agenda by engaging with three Zimbabwean provinces on areas of co-operation

The Premier of Limpopo Province, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha together with MEC of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, Mr Thabo Mokone will be joined by Minister of Matebeleland North, Hon Richard Moyo, Minister of Matebeleland South, Hon Abedinigo Ncube and Bulawayo Metropolitan State Minister Judith Ncube on political meeting for development. The undertaking which is within bilateral relations between the Republic of South Africa and the country of Zimbabwe, will chart new ways of economical mutual benefit thus advancing developmental aspirations of the citizens in both countries.

Aspects to be discussed include: The facilitation of tri-partite partnership between Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA), Zim Trade, Zimbabwe Investment Agency (ZIA) and Zimbabwe Investment Centre (ZIC), co-operation in the development of the Musina-Makhado SEZ in securing strategic raw materials from water and other mining areas, the exchange programs on SMME and co-operative development including investment missions to showcase the products of SMMEs and co-operatives.

Furthermore, collaboration between Limpopo Tourism Agency and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to share tourism promotion strategies, solicit Limpopo-Zambezi destination route which envisage the support of Polokwane International Airport, JN Nkomo Airport and Victoria Falls Airport. In addition, Premier Mathabatha and Governors of Zimbabwe will deliberate on the twinning of municipalities, Polokwane and Bulawayo on the spatial development initiative, Makhado and Gwanda as well as the harmonization of Musina and Beit Bridge cross-border permits for regional integration.
