Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi will on Friday, 09 October 2026, lead the transformer switch-on in Sebokeng as part of Operation Khanyisa aimed at improving electricity provision across the province.
The switch-on, in partnership with Eskom and City Power, forms part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s broader Energy Response Plan, which includes ongoing interventions to replace and install transformers and strengthen the electricity network in communities experiencing electricity supply challenges.
As part of the programme, the cable supplying Rand Water in Vereeniging will also be energised on Friday, supporting the reliability of electricity supply to critical water infrastructure.
