Premier Panyaza Lesufi and MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela open upgraded K155 (Modderfontein Road), 8 Oct

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, together with MEC for Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela, will on Thursday, 08 October 2026, officially open the upgraded K155 (Modderfontein Road), between the R25 and Pretoria Road in Edenvale, Ekurhuleni.

The K155 upgrade forms part of the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport’s ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure, enhance mobility and accessibility, strengthen connectivity, and support economic growth across the province.

The project includes the construction of new carriageways, widening of existing lanes and other key infrastructure improvements aimed at easing traffic congestion, improving traffic flow and enhancing safety for all road users.

The upgraded K155 will further support the integration of public transport services and improve connectivity between key residential, commercial and economic hubs. This will contribute to a safer, more efficient and accessible transport network in Ekurhuleni.

The completion and opening of the upgraded K155 demonstrates the Gauteng Provincial Government’s commitment to infrastructure-led development and ensuring that strategic investments in road infrastructure translate into improved service delivery, enhanced economic opportunities and a better quality of life for residents.
