Tomorrow, Wednesday 8 July 2015, Premier Helen Zille will meet with Teighla’r Gabriel to wish her well before she leaves for Harvard University.
Teighla’r is currently studying Medicine at Stellenbosch University where she is not only the top student in her course, but in the entire University. Last year, she passed the year with an average of 98.2%. She has managed to overcome personal challenges, worked hard and maintained her impeccable academic record.
Ms Gabriel passed her matric with an average of 98.3%, seven distinctions and is fluent in both Italian and German. She received invitations to study at South Africa’s top universities including Wits, University of Free State, University of KwaZulu-Natal, UCT, the University of Johannesburg and Stellenbosch University. During the course of her first year at Stellenbosch University, Teighla’r passed with six summa cum laude, where she also obtained 96.4% in Health in Context. She is currently the top student at Stellenbosch University.
Late last year Teighla’r was offered an opportunity to study at Harvard University in the United States of America. She has since accepted the offer and will be furthering her studies at Harvard.
Premier Zille will meet with Teighla’r to wish her well.
