Tomorrow, Friday 10 April 2015, Premier Helen Zille will officially launch the 2015 Premier’s Advancement of Youth (PAY) Project. The initiative, which was launched in 2012, creates opportunities for matriculants to gain workplace experience in Government.
Premier Zille will address over 700 interns who have been selected to participate in the annual project. The PAY internship, which will run from 7 April 2014 to 31 March 2016, will provide the matriculants with access to mentoring, career guidance, on the job training and a general exposure to skills training in one of our 13 provincial departments.
Since inception, the programme has provided 2 251 internships to young people so far. Last year an additional 27 million was made available to expand the programme to benefit more interns.
