Harbours: Premier Helen Zille to hold state of the harbours brieifng with fishing community

Tomorrow,  Tuesday 18 August, Premier Helen Zille will brief the Western Cape fishing community on the ‘State of the Harbours’ in the province.

Since 2009, the Western Cape Government has been in the process of engaging both Local and National government on the management of the province’s 12 fishing harbours, which currently fall under National government. These harbours have been largely neglected, and poorly managed. This has resulted in their dilapidation, loss of jobs and tourism investment.

Tomorrow Premier Zille will update the fishing community and the media on what steps the Western Cape Government  is taking to rectify the current mismanagement of harbours and restore their immense potential for job creation and growth.

All media are welcome to attend.
