Premier Helen Zille attends 8th GRSP and Safely Home Road Safety Workshop, 27 May

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, the Global Road Safety Partnership South Africa (GRSP ZA) and Childsafe cordially invite you to attend:

With the winter season upon us, the workshop theme for this month is Visibility. Inadequate visibility increases the risk of a road crash for all types of road users, although our focus will be on the most vulnerable, including motor-cyclists, cyclists, pedestrians and children.

More than 17,000 South Africans are killed on our roads each year, including nearly 3,000 children. Another 68,000 people are seriously injured. These deaths and injuries are preventable, and are costing the country more than 8% of GDP per annum.

Learn more about you and the communities you represent and interact with can also play a role in saving lives and preventing serious injuries.

Media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for photographs and interviews with presenters at the workshop.

Date: Wednesday, 27 May 2015
Time: 10h00 - 12h00
Venue: Red Cross Children’s Hospital – EDUCATION STAFF CENTRE (also known as the Johnsons & Johnson’s Building), Klipfontein Rd, Rondebosch.

RSVP at raushana.arnold@grsp.org.za or 083 413 3084 by today.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require more information about the workshop.

We look forward to seeing you there.
