Premier David Makhura launches R50 million rehabilitated P46/1 Road, 19 Oct

Gauteng Premier David Makhura together with MEC for Roads and Transport, MEC Ismail Vadi, will on Thursday, 19 October 2017 officially launch the rehabilitated P46/1 Road in Meyerton, South of Johannesburg.

The road traverses mainly through a rural environment, connecting Meyerton in Sedibeng and Katlehong in Ekurhuleni.

It serves as a major collector and distributor for urban areas along the route, links various economic nodes and development corridors. It also serves as an alternative to the R59 highway.

The R50 million project included extending the usable life of the road, addressing the safety aspects for users through surfacing, repairs and installations of guardrails, road signs and markings, bridge railings, edge beams, as well as ongoing maintenance.

As part of government’s commitment to good governance, the contractor was appointed through an open tendering process.

Details of the event are as follows:
Date: Thursday, 19 October 2017
Time: 15h00
Venue: Project Site Office, 58 Rooibok Road, Meyerton (next to Midvaal Municipality Offices)
