Gauteng Premier David Makhura will on Friday, 14 August 2015, host an education imbizo at Roodepoort Primary School. Accompanied by Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and senior government officials, Premier is hoping the engagement will lead to a lasting solution to the standoff that has been going on for months and has disrupted teaching and learning at the school.
“We are intervening in this impasse because education plays an integral role in the achievement of Gauteng City Region’s vision of accelerated social transformation,” said Premier Makhura.
