Premier of Limpopo Province leads Exco Outreach Programme to Kgopaneng
The Premier of Limpopo Province, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will lead members of the Executive Council to the village of Kgopaneng during their monthly Imbizo programme. Exco Imbizo programme is part of government’s initiative to monitor service delivery and engage with the communities as enshrined in the constitution.
During this interaction, the Premier and his Executive Council will address challenges raised and deliberate on lasting solutions with affected communities participating fully to arrive at permanent solutions.
A number of issues have been raised by the Provincial Research Team which include: Old dilapidated schools; No health facilities; Inadequate RDP houses and inaccessible roads. These issues raised in the research report are receiving the neccesary attention from the relevant departments and some preliminary solutions will be announced to affected communities during the Imbizo. The area of Kgopaneng has a number of farming projects that assist in job creation and skills development to community members. According to the Local Economic Development (LED) Director in Lim 476 Municipality, three Million rands has been set aside to roll out economic development projects in the 2017/18 financial year.
