Premier Chupu Mathabatha meets community of Sefitlhogo, 15 Sept

The Premier of Limpopo Provincial Government, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will lead members of the Executive Council (EXCO) to an engagement with the people of Sefitlhogo (Rietfontein) in Lephalale and the surrounding villages.  The Premier and his entourage will interact with community members regarding service delivery issues they are facing and try to come up with lasting solutions.

According to the research conducted by the Provincial Government, the health facilities in the area are not in good condition, as a result they pose health risks to the workers and community members. The classrooms are old and dilapidated and there is also a low pass rate in matric. Most of the community members work in the farms and rely on Sassa grants.  These issues contained in the research report are receiving attention from the relevant government departments. During the Imbizo, the communities will voice suggestions on how to resolve these challenges and others encountered on daily bases. The Provincial Government has rolled out the Community Works Programme (CWP), providing community members of Rietfontein with job based training. This programme and others offered by various government entities will go a long way towards poverty alleviation in the area.
