Premier Winde will meet with Delft community to detail his safety plan and then handover books in Hanover Park
On 2 October 2019, Western Cape Premier Alan Winde will host a community meeting to outline the details of his recently launched safety plan, to the community of Delft.
The R1 billion safety plan announced last month, will make 3000 additional law enforcement officers, and 150 investigators available in crime hotspots in the province. Additional, long-term violence prevention programmes will also be rolled out as part of the plan.
Local Community Policing Forums, Neighbourhood Watches as well as members of the community have been invited to attend.
Following this meeting, Premier Winde will then hand over approximately 800 books to the Hanover Park library, collected during a book collection drive. This book drive is one of the steps taken in the Hanover Park blitz, which is aimed at improving community facilities in order to enhance safety.
During his visit, Premier Winde will be reading a story to children from the area.
Members of the media wishing to attend are requested to RSVP to Bianca Capazorio today.
