Premier Alan Winde and MEC Debbie Schäfer attend Smart Water Meter Challenge Awards, 3 Sep

Premier Alan Winde and Minister Debbie Schäfer to attend Smart Water Meter Challenge Awards at Nooitgedacht Primary.

On Tuesday,  3 September 2019, Premier Alan Winde and Minister Debbie Schäfer will be in attendance at Nooitgedacht Primary School in Bishop Lavis for the Smart Water Meter Challenge Awards.

In 2017, the University of Stellenbosch developed the Smart Meter System, and BridgIoT provided support and the installation of the metering systems at schools.

The WCG partnered with Cape Talk and Shoprite on this campaign which was aimed at saving water at over 300 schools across Cape Town.

In total, the programme has already saved hundreds of millions of litres of water and millions of Rands which schools can now spend on other priorities.

As part of an exercise to bring about behavioural change, prizes will be awarded to the schools that saved the most water during a competition period.

All media are invited and welcome to attend the prize giving ceremony.
Date: Tuesday 3 September 2019
Time: 8h30 to 9h30
Venue: Nooitgedacht Primary School, C/O Heilbot & Robert Sobukwe Road, BISHOP LAVIS, 7490

There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
