Potchefstroom College of Agriculture to help establish West Rand Agricultural Institute

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will through its Potchefstroom College of Agriculture help the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to set up and turn the West Rand Agricultural Institute into a fully operational and accredited College of Agriculture.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to this effect will be signed by the two departments on Monday, 29 July 2013, at the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture.

The Principal of the North West Colleges of Agriculture, that is, Potchefstroom College of Agriculture and Taung Agricultural College, Mr Dipepeneneng Serage, says the work of providing support and guidance needed will commence immediately after the signing of the MoA.

The MoA will be signed by the Heads of the two departments, who will be joined by their management and technical teams.

MEC for the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Desbo Mohono says her department views this development in serious light, as it gives the department the opportunity to further position the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture as one of the best colleges of Agriculture in the country.
