Committee visits Public Enterprises department
The Portfolio Committee on Public enterprises will this week, 4 to 6 January undertake an oversight visit to the Department of Public Enterprises as well as state owned entities under the department.
The purpose of the visit, include among others, to assess progress made by the department on developing a strategy for Safcol and resolving the land claims backlog, progress in developing broadband policy and the Electronic Communications Services license for Infraco as well as progress in the implementation of the turnaround strategy at South African Airways.
The visit forms part of the constitutional mandate of oversight that the Committee has over the department and its entities.
