The Select Committees on Social Services and Education and Recreation will undertake a weeklong joint oversight visit to North West and Gauteng to assess implementation of government projects aimed at improving the lives of South Africans.
The joint visit will kick off in North West with a focus on Human Settlements projects, progress with interventions regarding the revitalisation of old mining towns as well as human settlements projects for military veterans. The Committees will also look at the 2010 FIFA legacy projects and the impact on the lives of the youth in the area.
In Gauteng the Committees will visit the Lindela Repatriation Centre and Freedom Park in Pretoria.
