Committee on Mineral Resources to visit Exxaro and graves of Kinross disaster victims
The Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources will tomorrow (23 July 2015) visit Exxaro Glisa Colliery in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, as part of Parliament’s oversight week which started on Monday, 20 July 2015.
Once on site, the Committee will be briefed about the company’s operation, progress on social labour plans and conduct a walkabout at the production plant.
The Committee will then conclude its oversight in the Province on Friday with a briefing by the Department of Mineral Resources on the Kinross disaster. The briefing will take place in Winkelhaak followed by a site visit to the unmarked graves of 177 mineworkers who were victims of the Kinross disaster.
