Cricket SA to brief committee on transformation and governance challenges

The Portfolio Committee on Sport, Arts and Culture will on Tuesday receive a briefing from Cricket SA (CSA). The briefing will update the committee on allegations of mismanagement levelled against CSA, and the social justice and nation-building findings, where racism and transformation were highlighted as challenges in cricket. There were also findings regarding the appointment of the current Proteas' coach, Mr Mark Boucher, exclusionary practices in the team, and salary disparities between white and black cricketers.

The Cricket SA delegation is expected to be led by the President of Cricket SA, Mr Rihan Richards, and the Chairperson of the Board, Mr Lawson Naidoo.
