Parliament hosts SALSA Development Seminar, 8 to 10 Dec

The Secretaries Association of the Legislatures of South Africa (SALSA) will hold a Development Seminar, under the auspices of the South African Legislative Sector at Elangeni Southern Sun in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal from 8 to 10 December 2014.

Among the objectives of the seminar, is to highlight the transformational role of the South African Legislative Sector in the last 20 years and beyond. The seminar, under the theme “Building Stronger Legislatures – 20 years and Beyond”, will strategise towards realising the vision of building a stronger Legislative Sector.

Former Finance Minister Mr Trevor Manuel will give perspectives on the National Development Plan and the role of the Legislative Sector to the seminar. National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mr Lechesa Tsenoli will deliver the opening address.

Secretaries to Parliament and Provincial Legislatures, leadership and senior officials of Parliament and Provincial Legislatures will be attending the seminar. Other delegations to attend include African Parliaments and the European Union Delegation to South Africa.
