Meeting on National Credit Amendment Bill postponed
The Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry has cancelled its scheduled meeting for today, 19 February 2014.
The Committee was to continue its deliberation on the Bill. The Committee will continue with this process on Thursday afternoon, 20 February 2014 immediately after the sitting of the National Assembly.
The purpose of the Bill is, among others, to empower the Minister to issue notice for the removal of adverse information, to provide for automatic removal of adverse consumer information, to empower the National Credit Tribunal to suspend reckless credit agreements and to provide for the registration and accreditation of Alternative Dispute Resolution Agents.
