Parliament hosts delivery of 2014 budget speech, 26 Feb

Budget speech to Parliament - 26 February 2014

Minister of Finance Mr Pravin Gordhan, will present his annual Budget speech to Parliament at 14h00 on Wednesday, 26 February 2014.

Members of the Media, who are not part of the lock-up, wishing to cover Minister Gordhan’s budget speech to Parliament or wishing to broadcast from the Parliamentary precinct are required to send their details to Manelisi Ntsodo at mntsodo@parliament.gov.za or on 021 403 8494 or 083 985 7047 and Mlindi Mpindi at mmpindi@parliament.gov.za or on 073 197 1315, by 14h00 on Friday, 21 February 2014.

Details required are:

  • Full name, ID/passport number (foreign nationals must provide: expiry date of passport; place of issue; date of birth; and country of issue)
  • Name of media organisation
  • Designation (writer, photographer, for example)
  • Telephone number
  • Cell phone number.

Media wishing to broadcast from the Parliamentary precinct should also provide:

Make of vehicle(s), registration number(s), number(s) of vehicles, other equipment and time of arrival.

Documentation related to the budget speech will be available on the National Treasury website (www.treasury.gov.za) when the Minister starts his address to Parliament, at around 14h00.

The Minister’s speech will also be available on the Parliament website (www.parliament.gov.za) and the Treasury website (www.treasury.gov.za).

The speech will be broadcast live on Parliament’s DSTV Channel 408, live streaming on Parliament’s website and will also be covered live by major television and radio stations.
