Parliament assesses Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces on their readiness for 2022 academic year, 31 Jan


The Portfolio Committee on Basic Education will this week visit schools in the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces to assess their readiness for the 2022 academic year. The visit which will commence in the Western Cape on Monday and take place in the Northern Cape on Wednesday, is a continuation of the one that has taken place two weeks ago in other provinces.

The committee will split into two groups for the purposes of reaching to as many schools as possible.

Details of the programme are as follows:
Date: 31 January 2022
Time: 08:30 – 15:00, visit to schools in the Metro South and Central Education Districts.

08:30 – 10:00 visit to Agape Special School.

14:00 – 15:00- visit to 1 North Wharf Square, 2 Lower Loop Street, 5th Floor Auditorium, Foreshore

15:00 – 16:30 The committee with the Portfolio Committee on Education of the Provincial Legislature will hold a meeting with the Western Cape Department of Education including the Office of the MEC, Head of the department, Senior and District Officials of the Department of Basic Education, SGB Associations, Organised Labour, as well as the South African Principals Association.
