The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency (sefa) will launch the Youth Fund in the Western Cape.
The cooperation agreement between the NYDA, IDC and sefa is in response to the signing of the Youth Employment Accord of April 2013 where Government and its social partners made a commitment to prioritise youth employment and skills development. The Youth Employment Accord is one in a series of social pacts intended to help achieve the New Growth Path goal of five million new jobs by 2020.
The provincial launches of the project have already taken place in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State, Mpumalanga, North-West and Limpopo.
The CEO of the NYDA, Mr Khathu Ramukumba together with the CEO of sefa, Mr Thakhani Makhuvha, and CEO of IDC Mr Geoffrey Qhena, invite members of the media to the launch to be held as follows :
