Its election time for traditional council
The North West Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, together with the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) has declared 25 January 2013 as the traditional council election day. The elections will be held in three districts in the province namely Ngaka Modiri Molema, Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Bojanala Districts.
All registered members of rural communities which fall under traditional leadership administration will be eligible to vote for the 40% of the traditional council which is comprised of ordinary members of the community. The other 60% which is to be appointed by Kgosi will consist of members of the royal family.
Only registered community members with a green bar coded South African Identity document will be allowed to vote. Traditional council elections are in line with the Traditional Leadership and Governance Act of 2005. The Act provides for the establishment of traditional councils in traditional communities for a term of five (5) years.
The traditional council elections will be held as follows:

Time: 7h00 to 8h00
