Game Breeders Transformation Project Launch

Swaartruggens: The MEC for Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development, Manketsi Tlhape together with Bokone Bophirima Premier, Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo will officially launch The Game Breeders Transformation project. The project is the first of its kind in the country thus Rebranding and Repositioning the Province appropriately both nationally and internationally. The project is an initiative of the North West provincial government to encourage community participation in wildlife ranching whilst striving for economic empowerment and the improvement of economy of the province with the previously disadvantaged being the beneficiaries of this noble initiative.

In her 2015/16 Budget Vote Speech, MEC Manketsi Tlhape pronounced that the North West Parks Board will roll out transformation of the game industry and work towards development of the Wildlife Management Transformation Policy within the next three years. The Game Breeders Transformation project will be implemented in Kgetleng River Local Municipality and in partnership with the private sector and the newly formed Parks Board to unleash the required empowerment.
