North West Provincial Legislature Speaker to host Basadi Re Aga Setshaba outreach programme and Arts and Culture Sectoral Parliament in Brits

On Friday, 30 August 2019, the Speaker of North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Sussana Dantjie will engage women in politics and young women in arts and culture through Basadi Re Aga Setshaba outreach programme and Arts and Culture Sectoral Parliament in Brits Sports Ground at 10h00.

About 2600 people mostly elderly women from all districts of the province will attend the event.  About 300 women in arts and culture will start by attending Arts and Culture Sectoral Parliament under the theme; "The 4th Industrial Revolution: Opportunities in the Creative Economy," which will focus more on arts and culture issues.

Hon. Dantjie together with Members of the Provincial Legislature and attendees will participate in various sporting activities which include a fun run/walk; netball and soccer. The purpose is to also further promote healthy living amongst women and the society in general as we celebrate Women's Month.

The Basadi Re aga Setshaba programme is aimed at profiling women’s businesses and political careers; achieve public participation in government structures; educate women of Bokone Bophirima on the constitutional role and mandate of the Legislature; and at enhancing oversight function and public participation.
