On Wednesday, 16 July 2014 the North West Provincial Legislature will be hosting the Sports Sectoral Parliament under the theme: “The Role of Sports in Moving South Africa Forward” in the Legislature Chamber at 10h00.
Participants from the various sporting codes will be requested to present on the following topic: “The role of a particular sport codes in ensuring institutional capacity enhancement in sport.”
The Sports Sectoral Parliament was initiated with the aim of strengthening participation of the stakeholders in the sports fraternity.
The event will be able to determine whether the relations between stakeholders and the Department of Education and Sports Development are sustainable. It will also determine how far the department and stakeholders have gone in ensuring that the communities as well as the affected sporting groups are informed about the outcomes of issues raised.
Different representatives from the Department of Education and Sports Development; North West Provincial Sports Academy; North West Sports Council; South African Football Association – North West and Mmabana Foundation will attend the event.
