Acting North West MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Paul Sebegoe, is to accompany Premier Thandi Modise to the official opening of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders, Thursday, 14 March 2013 at Chambers - Lowe Building, Mahikeng at 09h00.
This ceremony will mark the 6th term of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders and will be attended amongst others by traditional leaders, representatives from the National House of Traditional Leaders, members of other Provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders, MEC’s, Executive Mayors, Mayors and Councillors.
As a build up to the opening ceremony, learners from Mahikeng schools will be taught how to slaughter a beast on Wednesday, 13 March 2013, 9h00 at Lowe, Mahikeng.They will also be taught about the importance of different body parts and their significance to Batswana.
The meat will be donated to Lapa la Botlhe Old Age Home in Mahikeng. Meanwhile North West House of Traditional Leaders has thrown its full weight behind all the campaigns against women and children abuse.
