North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Desbo Mohono, hands over agriculture projects worth R18 million

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s endeavour to boost the smallholder farmers’ production rate will once more be witnessed tomorrow, 14 May 2014, when the MEC Desbo Mohono will be handing over a total of eleven (11) agricultural projects to its beneficiaries in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.

The projects, Fabcos Dairy, Rebokamoso Piggery, Motshabi Piggery, Nteu Piggery, Rethabiseng Broilers, Ipelegeng Broilers, Maquassie Broilers, Strategic Poultry, Marele Goat, Malau Hydroponics and DLG Golden Holdings were during the financial year 2013/14 funded by the Department through the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme. 

MEC Mohono asserts that the communities’ involvement in food production initiatives is firmly growing in the province, thus making the Department’s dynamic effort to bridge the agricultural production divide more visible and intense.
