Public Works Committee to meet the department over company contracted to facilitate Mmabatho Convention Centre and roads inspected
On Tuesday, 18 February 2014, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads and Transport will hold a meeting with the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport together with the company contracted to manage Mmabatho Convention Centre in the Legislature Committee Room 2 at 10h00.
On 29 January 2014, the Committee went on an oversight visit to Mmabatho Convention Centre to inspect the facility and interact with the management on matters of governance of the facility.
At 14h00, the Committee will meet the department over the oversight reports on the inspection of roads and Mini Garona Building located in Vryburg.
The following roads were inspected; Mmamutla road; Wolmaranstad/Schweizer-Reneke road; Lichtenburg/Koster Road; Bona Bona road; Madinonyane road; Vostershoop road and Tosca road.
The department is also requested to present a report on the following:
- the name of the contractor appointed for the Lichtenburg/Koster road.
- the inception and completion date for Lichtenburg/Koster road.
- the process followed in the appointment of the contractor for Lichtenburg/Koster road.
- the report of the Bid Committee for Lichtenburg/Koster road
- the value of the tender for the Lichtenburg/Koster road.
