North West Legislature Committee on Local Government to meet Departments; SALGA and AGSA over Municipalities’ Regressed Audit Outcomes in 2016/17
On Thursday, 14 June 2018, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Local Government and Human Settlement chaired by Hon. Motlalepula Rosho will hold an oversight meeting with National Department of Corporative Governance and Traditional Affairs; Department of Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development; South African Local Government Association and Auditor General South Africa to discuss best strategies that will assist municipalities that have regressed on the 2016/17 audit outcomes. The meeting will be held at the Rustenburg Civic Centre at 08h30.
The municipalities that regressed in the 2016/17 financial year are: Bojanala District; Madibeng; Moses Kotane; Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati; Lekwa Teemane; Mamusa; Kagisano Molopo; Ngaka Modiri Molema; Ditsobotla; Tswaing; Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and JB Marks.
The departments and the entities will make presentations on best approaches to assist municipalities to change their audit outcomes as well as turn-around strategies to improve service delivery
