On Friday, 21 August 2015, the North West Provincial Legislature Speaker, Hon. Sussana Dantjie, will be launching an outreach programme, Basadi re aga Setshaba, at Rustenburg Civic Centre at 10h00.
The outreach programme under the theme; North West Women Breaking the Class Ceiling, is aimed at encouraging and mobilising women to consider active involvement in politics and business; and also to provide a platform for them to share experiences and expertise with leaders in politics and business.
Guest speakers have been invited to facilitate discussions and presentations on the following thematic areas; Women in politics; Economic empowerment for women; Media and politics and Morale issues.
The programme is launched during the August month as the country is celebrating women’s month. It will move across the province to all districts making sure that women participate in government structures and events; to inspire young women to be great achievers; educate young women and profile their political and business careers; to promote women emancipation and empowerment; and most importantly to enhance the oversight function of the Legislature.
Women from all sectors and different political parties have been invited to be part of this outreach programme.
