On Friday, 12 September 2014, the North West Provincial Legislature will be hosting the Arts and Culture Sectoral Parliament under the theme “The Role of Arts and Culture in Moving South Africa Forward” at Mmabana Taung in the Greater Taung Local Municipality at 09h00.
The objective of the event is to ensure that oversight and public participation is enhanced by creating a platform for the Arts and Culture sector and relevant stakeholders in the North West Province and engage with the Members of the Provincial Legislature and Executive.
The Legislature will allow stakeholders in the arts and culture industry to discuss and analyse issues facing them and debate the influence of the sector in contributing to the economy of the province.
The event will be attended by 300 stakeholders from the different sectors ranging from, theatre and drama; craft; indigenous knowledge system; dance; literature; cultural villages and museums; visual arts and language; and heritage.
