North West Legislature holds public meeting in Rustenburg, 28 Mar

O re bone, re go bone – Legislature takes Parliament to Bojanala District

On Wednesday, 28 March 2018, the North West Provincial Legislature will be holding the O re bone, re go bone – Taking Parliament to Rustenburg and Moses Local municipalities. The Portfolio Committee on Education, Sports and Recreation will conduct an oversight visit at Bersig High and LM Mangope Technical Schools at 09h00 and the Portfolio Committee on Tourism, Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development will conduct Agriculture Sectoral Parliament at Mabeeskraal Community Hall at 10h00.

The “O re bone re go bone” which literally means “You see us and we see you”, is a programme aimed at taking Legislature to the people to strengthen oversight and public participation and to promote accountability and transparency in government. During the campaign, Members of the Legislature will also interact with different provincial departments and their MECs; Mayors, members of the Municipal Public Accounts Committees, ward committees, traditional authorities, farmers and their respective organisations, organised structures and members of the public on issues affecting them.

The public is invited to a public meeting that will be held at Rustenburg Civic Centre at 15h00.

This is the year that the North West Provincial Legislature is celebrating the lives and times of Nelson Mandela and Mma Albertina Sisulu under the theme: “Making Your Future Better- Learning from Tata Madiba and Mama Sisulu.”
