SCOPA to meet Premier Mahumapelo over intervention on finances of Public Works; Health and Education Departments
On Tuesday, 12 May 2015, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Standing Committee on Provincial Public Accounts (SCOPA) will hold a meeting with Premier Supra Mahumapelo and senior management over intervention by the Executive Council (Exco) in the finances of the Department of Public Works and Roads, Department of Health and Department of Education and Sports Development in the Legislature Committee Room 2 at 07h00.
The Committee Chairperson, Hon. Mahlakeng Mahlakeng said the Office of the Premier will also present a report on the matters relating to the Department of Public Works and Roads, particularly on non-payment of service providers; closing of projects that already exist in various communities and implications of the department on developing fruitless and wasteful expenditure as a resulted of expected interest that is going to be charged by service providers.
