Pensioner to Receive a Fully furnished house after 20 Years of Poverty

On Friday, 20 November 2015, the Chief Whip of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Hoffman Galeng together with senior officials from the Department of Human Settlements, Mahikeng Local Municipality Members of the Municipal Committee on Housing, the building contractor and relevant councillors will be opening a fully fletched house for the family of Nkweyagae at Tsetse Village near Ramatlabama (Mahikeng).

The family of Nkweyagae is a family of nine (9), who has been living in a two-roomed mud house at Tsetse Village, for more than 20 years with only one bread winner currently working at one of the mines in Rustenburg.  Mmemogolo Nkweyage who is a pensioner, has been taking care of her grandchildren and great – grandchildren who are not working and survive though children’s social grants as well the son’s salary from the mines.

Hon. Galeng visited the family during Mandela Day commemorations in 2014, and found the family living under the most atrocious conditions, and decided to call upon all relevant stakeholders to assist the family in enduring the benefits of a better living.
