Official opening and handover of new schools in Rustenburg
The tripartite collaboration between Impala Platinum, Impala Bafokeng Trust and the provincial Department of Education and Sport Development will this week come to fruition as two (2) newly built schools in Platinum Village, Rustenburg Local Municipality, will be officially opened and handed over. The construction of the two schools, Platinum Village Primary and Platinum Village Secondary, was completed in 2016 to the tune of R130 million.
Furthermore, the Sunrise View Secondary School which was also built and completed in 2013 as part of Impala’s Social and Labour Plan (SLP) projects, will also be officially handed over to the Department of Education and Sport Development.
Premier Supra Mahumapelo of the North West Province will attend the official opening and handover of these schools, the ceremony of which will be held as follows:
Date: Friday, 13 April 2018
Time: 09h30 at Sunrise View Secondary School
Time: 11h30 at Platinum Village Schools
According to Premier Mahumapelo, this development is indicative of positive progress that does not only recognise the significance of creating integrated and sustainable communities, but also gives meaning to the clarion call by the 5th administration for Saamwerk-Saamtrek.
Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the handing over and official opening of the three schools.
