Signing of the collaborative protocol between the North West Department of Education and Sport Development and SAPS
The delivery of quality public education requires a safe school environment and to this end ‘’The Regulations for Safety Measures at Public School” as amended in 2006, focus on measures to ensure the safety of learners. In the light of the above, the Minister of Education declared all public schools are crime and violence free zones.
The North West Department of Education and Sport Development has thus identified a need to bring together all stakeholders and interested parties to formalize interventions towards safer public schools.
The department will be launching the Provincial School Safety at which the Signing of the Protocol Agreement between the Department of Education and Sport Development and the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management will be implemented.
