In celebration of women’s month and emancipation of women and children’s rights, the North West department of Education & Sports Development will embark on various of sporting activities that will be held in Bojanala district on Saturday, 15 August 2015 from 6h00.
These activities that will start at Tlhabane and Phokane T-junction, Western Bypass road include a 5km big walk, 10km race and cycling.
The finishing point will be on the first circle towards Sun City after passing Phokeng village.
The women’s month sporting activities were launched in August 2014 by education and Sport Development MEC Wendy Matsemela and were aimed at instilling a culture of positive healthy lifestyle among employees and to engage in physical activities in a bid to curb health-threatening ailments such as cholesterol, obesity, and hypertension and reducing stress levels.
To give the event more flavour, this year MEC Matsemela has stretched the invitation to all education stakeholders to take part in this exercise and to be examples of healthy living champions to the people of the North West.
