The Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Minister Gugile Nkwinti will present the certificates to the youth who have successfully completed their programme at 3 South African Infantry Battalion in Kimberley on Thursday, 13 December 2012.
The programme is a government initiative aimed at equipping the rural-based youth with community project skills and multi-disciplinary skills through civic education with the view to deal with the escalating levels of service delivery protests in South Africa.
Part of the key issues Minister Nkwinti will deliver to the media will include his envisaged plan for the rural youth, and enact the significant role the youth will play in supporting government programmes and initiative when asked.
He will also draw up a summative report on successes achieved by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform in association with the Department of Defence aimed at changing lives of ordinary South African citizens, and map up the road going forward to fulfill government mandatory obligations.
